To make this one you mus have at least some experience in creating “flat” stained glass items.
You will need: small white sea glass (at least 1,5 – 2 times more than will be used). 5 mm copper foil for stained glass making, 60/40 solder, 1 mm copper wire, two small red glass pieces or glass beads. Pliers, wire cutter, soldering iron, stained glass flux.
I make mould myself of kitchen aluminium foil and scotch tape – the form is quite simple. Foil the glass and start creating stained glass “shell” around the mould. Don’t forget to leave a line around it without soldering, so you can take it apart.
If you plan to use LED lights inside, hole in the bottom should allow for them to be put in.
Next step – un-soldering, taking the mould out and covering all the inside seams with solder.
Now it’s starting to look like a rat 🙂 And we can solder the parts together and cover all the outer seams.
Next I google how many fingers have rats, every times despite having rats as pets and making this item 10+ times already 🙂
Making arms, legs and ears may look simple, but is quite tricky. But practice really makes better – with every try you will feel the moves needed to maintain just the right temperatures for creating that or other effect.
Voila! Now just wash it well, put inside some fairy lights and enjoy!
Simpler way – to order from me and wait a bit 🙂
